TIPS: DEHYDRATOR FILTER

The definition of dehydrator is, a divice that contains drying material that filters the dampness and other pollutants out of its cooling system.

There are two moments when it’s necessary to change the operating system filter:

1. When it has become saturated with water.
2. When the material has partial or totally changed its color.

It exists a wide range of models and applications of the filters. To select a dehydrator filter you need to consult an expert because there are several design parameters to consider:  

• Present pollutants in the system.
• Maximum pressure of operation.
• Maximum temperature of operation.
• Total humidity in the system.
• Oil volume.

At Siemens Transformers we supply two types of dehydrators:

1. Conventional
2. Self-generable or mintenance free
