In 2011 Siemens Transformers Mexico closed a contract with the Spanish company Iberdrola to provide 3 GSU power transformers of 152 MVA each as part of the CCC Cogeneration Salamanca project.
This project in its first phase will have a generating capacity of 430 MW and its implementation includes the associated transmission works, which include a substation enclosure and 8 transmission lines of 230 kV.
The implementation period of the project is 29 months and will be located on the premises of the refinery that Pemex has in the city of Salamanca, Guanajuato, the execution date is scheduled in April 2013.
2. LA CARIDAD I PROJECT
In February 2011, Grupo Mexico awarded a contract to Siemens for the construction and procurement of equipment and components of a combined cycle plantin the project called LA CARIDAD I: a mining-metallurgical complex located in the north or the country, for which Siemens Transformers Mexico will provide 2 GSU power transformers of 210 and 120 MVA respectively.
This generation plant will have gas turbines to produce electricity that at will simultaneously raise the water temperature producing steam for other two turbines. This equipment will generate a combined capacity of 500 MW to supply two copper mines in Sonora .
The target date to start of commercial operations is June 2013.
3. EL SEGUNDO PROJECT
NRG Electric Company was the first to acquire the Flex Plant technology from Siemens, who in 2011 obtained the first order to supply 2 combined cycle plants in El Segundo, California.
Flex Plant Technology offers a compatible solution with the environment through a quick-start technology, low emissions output at startup and use of water.
The two plants have the ability to generate 300MW each in only 10 minutes.
Both projects will need 4 GSU power transformers, two of them of 90 MVA and other two of 275 MVA which will be manufactured at the plant of Siemens Transformers Guanajuato, Mexico.
When both plants begin operations in 2013, they will be able to supply clean energy to approximatelyt 240,000 families.
4. RUSSELL CITY ENERGY CENTER PROJECT
Mexico Siemens Transformers will provide 3 GSU Power transformers: one of 300 MVA and 2 of 226 MVA additionally 2 auxiliary units of 38 MVA for Russell City Energy Center Project for Bechtel in the city of Hayward, California.
It has a planned production of 600MW natural gas-based technology which will lead to a reduction of over 90% of emissions and will be 40% more fuel efficient thus providing the region with clean and safe electricity.
5. CPV SENTINEL ENERGY PROJECT
Siemens Transformers Mexico got a project of 10 units for Gemma Power Systems Company for a total of 1093 MVA to be installed in Hot Springs, California, for the project CPV Sentinel Energy.
CPV Sentinel Energy began commercial operations in 2013.
